A Curated Creative Summer Box by Opal + Birch
A thoughtfully curated collection inspired by warm light, shoreline treasures, and slow summer moments. The Sun + Shore Box is designed as an invitation to pause, create, and reconnect with the beauty of the season.
At the heart of this collection is a handmade ceramic shell dish, created using the delicate markings of a real shell and finished with melted recycled glass. Perfect as a jewelry dish or small trinket vessel, each piece is one of a kind.
This summer ritual box also includes a curated selection of nature-inspired and self-care favorites, including an amethyst crystal, nourishing coconut lotion, face tallow, a crystal bracelet, and a small message tucked inside a glass bottle.
To encourage moments of creativity and reflection, the box also includes a mini watercolor kit, complete with a paint palette, watercolor paper, and a refillable brush pen - perfect for bringing along to the lake, river, beach, or boat to capture a sunrise or sunset. A gentle reminder to slow down, soak in the season, and create something just for yourself.

Every Sun + Shore Box is thoughtfully curated using unique shell dishes, stones, and bracelets. Colors and combinations will vary, making each box a little different and entirely your own. If you have a color preference (soft neutrals, blues, warm tones, etc.), feel free to leave a note at checkout and I will do my best to accommodate when possible.

From Lake Superior driftwood and North Shore pebbles to stones, shells, crystals, and treasures gathered near and far - I create jewelry, pottery, driftwood art, and one-of-a-kind gifts inspired by the lakes, woods, and wildlife that bring me joy.
Many of the materials I use are ethically and intentionally sourced - including rocks, fossils, meteorites, and minerals collected by small local rockhounds and some I mine myself. Every item in my shop is either handmade or thoughtfully collected, ensuring each piece carries meaning, connection, and a little bit of earth’s magic.
Designed from a photograph I took of a rusted oil drum near my childhood home, this kimono transforms a forgotten object into unexpected beauty. The warm tones and organic textures become wearable art - a reminder that even discarded things can hold beauty when seen with care.

This dreamy necklace features a raw, naturally-shaped Ethiopian opal full of magical color play -flashes of fire dance across the stone whenever the light hits it just right. No two are alike. Set in sterling silver and paired with an 18" sterling silver chain, the organic crescent-like shape of the opal gives this piece a quiet elegance with an earthy, unpolished feel.
Each stone is left raw to preserve its natural edge and energy - no heavy polishing, no perfect symmetry. Just nature’s handiwork, the way it was found.

The sails are crafted from fully repurposed materials: one side from a soft, chunky-knit thrifted sweater in creamy ivory, and the other from a vibrant plaid shirt in rich purples, oranges, and pinks. The contrast between cozy texture and bold color gives this little boat a big personality.
